Augusts Member Of The Month: Mark Ayliffe:
Mark sporting the coaches favourite tee.
Known for his powerful hips and jazzy t-shirt collection Mark is an integral member of the Saxon community. Hard working, funny and a pleasure to coach Mark has progressed massively over the last few months earning himself a spot as one of the most competitive athletes in the box. Consistently attending classes and giving them everything Mark has not only improved his general athletic ability but has also nailed some of the key skills in CrossFit.
Any class Mark books into is guaranteed to have a great atmosphere with plenty of banter and a great t-shirt and short combo! We asked Mark all about his Saxon CrossFit experience to date and to give us some facts the other Saxon might not know:
What brought you to Saxon CrossFit?
It would be Miss Kelly Fox who got me hooked. She was always going on about how awesome the workouts were and how great you guys are in the office, so I had to come try it out and haven’t looked back since.
What do you think is your biggest achievement since you’ve started at Saxon CrossFit?
I would have to say it was being able to complete a workout doing pull ups without using a band.
What is your favourite/least favourite movement?
I kind of love/hate all the movements as I want to get better and more confident at the ones I don’t like. My favourites though are deadlifts, rowing and cleaning, easy choice for my least favourite though, I really don’t like thrusters and lunges.
What do you like most about Saxon CrossFit?
Everything from the atmosphere and community in Saxon to the great coaches and workouts you give us.
What are your short/long term training goals?
Short term I want to get more confident in the barbell movements and learn some more skills.
Long term I would like lift heavier and get stronger gymnastics. All in I just want to get better at CrossFit.
Tell us something about yourself that the other members do not know?
I’m not really sure what to write so maybe a couple of things people might not know
