Saxon CrossFit 2025 Member Awards

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the winners of our 2025 Member Awards, celebrated in style on Saturday, December 6th, at our festive Christmas Party! This year, we proudly honoured our outstanding members in several prestigious categories:

  • Most Committed to Training
  • Most Improved
  • Most Dedicated to the Saxon Community
  • Member of the Year

With the exception of the Member of the Year award, our remarkable winners were selected by our passionate coaching team, who engaged in thoughtful nominations and lively discussions to identify those who truly embody the spirit of Saxon CrossFit.

Most Committed to Training

This award celebrates the individual whose extraordinary dedication to training sets a benchmark for all. Their relentless consistency and prioritisation of fitness is truly inspiring. In 2025, we witnessed an astounding surge in commitment from our members. The top five contenders for this award were:

  • 5th: Emily Smart – 227 sessions
  • 4th: Maddison Brooks – 243 sessions
  • 3rd: Katie Fryatt – 251 sessions
  • 2nd: Jemma Raw – 258 sessions

And the winner of the Most Committed to Training Award is… Toby Wilson. Toby has not only surpassed last year’s impressive record of 256 training sessions, set by Gareth Sims, but has also raised the bar by completing an astonishing 319 sessions, averaging over 6 sessions per week. Whenever you step into the box, there’s Toby, pushing through every workout with incredible grit, determination, and humour. Beyond his training, Toby generously volunteers at both our internal and external events, inspiring us all to embrace the Saxon spirit. Thank you, Toby, for being a sparkling gem in our community.

Most Improved

This award shines a spotlight on athletes who have demonstrated phenomenal growth on their fitness journeys this year. Our finalists have impressed us all, making this a truly challenging decision. We are elated to announce the winners in the male and female categories:

Callum Lloyd and Katie Fryatt

Callum joined us in March with a mission to lose weight and enhance his fitness to keep up with his children. Through sheer dedication, he has shed 44.5 kg, transitioning from walking to running, stepping up on plates to 30 inch box jumps, mastering many workouts and PB’s galore. His journey showcases what can be achieved when you embrace a meaningful goal. Callum, you are an inspiration to us all, keep shining bright.

Katie set out at the beginning of the year with a fierce determination to win the “Most Committed to Training” award. For the first three quarters of 2025, she trained more than anyone else at Saxon, attending coached sessions nearly every day while honing her strength and skills in open gym. With incredible milestones like achieving strict and kipping pull-ups, Katie exemplifies what happens when you dedicate yourself to challenging personal limits. Fantastic work, Katie, you are a beacon of dedication.

Most Dedicated to the Saxon Community

This award honours the member who has made significant contributions to nurturing the incredible community spirit of Saxon. Recognising those who uplift and support their fellow members brings us immense joy. This year, we had an abundance of deserving nominees, making the final decision tremendously difficult.

Special mentions include:

  • Sheila Greenacre – A steadfast supporter at Morley Festival and a passionate advocate of Saxon CrossFit.
  • Roger Birchall – Always ready to lend a hand, ensuring things ran smoothly at the Morley Sports Event.
  • Sharon Johnson – Providing unwavering encouragement and support to Alex and myself.
  • Gareth Sims – Continually offering his practical knowledge and time to improve our facilities.

After heartfelt discussions, we are thrilled to honour Emily Smart, who has quietly and consistently offered her time to enhance our social media presence and organise events. Emily also provides encouragement to fellow members during training sessions. Thank you, Emily, for your unwavering dedication.
